Learn About Your Mental Health Coach
Karen is a dedicated mental health coach with a passion for walking alongside others on their life journey. Her mission is to offer a space where people feel seen, heard, and valued—just as others once did for her. A West Virginia native now living in Johnston County, North Carolina, Karen serves as the Recovery Alive National Online Director with Recovery Alive, Inc. In this role, she helps individuals connect with online recovery and other resources. She supports new RA ministries across the nation by serving as a Coach. With over 13 years of experience in recovery ministry, Karen’s journey began when she walked through the doors of recovery battling severe panic attacks, anxiety, and the effects of an abusive marriage that had come to an end. Her personal experience includes struggles with anxiety from an early age, as well as depression, fear, grief, self-worth, job loss, and health challenges. Through Christ-centered recovery, she has found emotional healing, renewed perspective, and deep self-awareness. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with Early Childhood Certification from Fairmont State University, a Secretarial Diploma from West Virginia Business College, and Professional Life Coaching from Light University. She is available to provide support in working through goals and transitions in life. Her heart for helping others and her lived experience make her a compassionate and effective guide for those seeking hope and healing.
